China's 3D Printing Industry Embraces "Mass Production Inflection": Equipment Output Up Over 50% in First Four Months
Published: 2026-05-27
According to the latest reports from Zhonghong Network and CCTV News, with technological progress, export growth and continuously expanding application scenarios, 3D printing is accelerating its move from the laboratory into industrial production and the mass consumer market. Data shows that in the first four months of this year, China's 3D printing equipment output grew 50.9% year-on-year. Among this, the rapid growth in exports of consumer-grade 3D printing equipment was a major driver of overall output growth, with exports reaching 2.46 million units from January to April, up 100.3% year-on-year. Currently, Chinese companies hold roughly 90% of the global market share in consumer-grade 3D printing equipment. Industry experts note that as printing efficiency, material performance and equipment stability continue to improve, 3D printing is shifting from an "optional" to a "must-have" step in manufacturing, and the industry is steadily advancing toward a scale of hundreds of billions of yuan.
